Actress Jennifer Aniston has been expressing her frustration with the tabloid press, saying she's scared that the focus on her romances rather than screen work could derail her career:

"That distracts from what you do and what you work really hard at which is our movies, our television shows.
It's almost like another job that you have not chosen to be a part of. It's like a soap opera that you did not sign up for."

The problem is, Jen does have a remarkable skill for attracting drama in her personal life, whereas her movies....... well, they're not usually that much to write home about, are they???

Can E! keep up with the Kardashians?

Can the E! television network afford to keep up with the Kardashians - in particular, Kim?

According to reports, she's set to leave 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians', the reality show that made her family famous, in order to pursue big-money offers from other networks and concentrate on her endorsement deals. A source explains: "Kim's advisors feel that it's time now to explore bigger deals on bigger networks. She's right to feel like she doesn't need to open up her personal life to make a living on TV. It looks like Kim can make a lot more money than the TV show can pay her, especially through her endorsement deals and doing some appearances on bigger network shows.” Talking specifically about the ads she made recently for fast food giants Carl's Jr., "Kim makes more money from that commercial than from an entire season of The Kardashians!" Will you miss the show if they decide to take it off-air????

Kate Winslet has announced her separation from husband of seven years, Sam Mendes.

A statement from top London solicitors Schillings reads:

"Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year. The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement. Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children. They ask that the media respect their privacy at this time."

Aww, that's really pretty sad - they always seemed rock-solid together. They share a six year old son named Joe together, as well as Kate's daughter Mia from her previous marriage. :--(

Drew Barrymore: "F*ck plastic surgery!"

Actress Drew Barrymore is pretty definite on one thing -- she doesn't want plastic surgery:

"F**k surgery! I’m so curious as to what’s going to happen naturally that I can’t imagine wanting to alter things just yet.
And to all those women putting botulism in their faces – we don’t know what the long-term effects are, so stop! I’d rather look like a basset hound than do that to my face!"

What do you think about surgery and botox???? It is kind of terrifying that we don't really understand if there are any long-term side effects from using botox. That's put me right off :-/

Kate Nash slams the Pussycat Dolls

Singer-songwriter Kate Nash has spoken out to accuse the Pussycat Dolls of encouraging children to be sexualised at a young age, saying that she believes they are "really distasteful".

She told The Observer:

"They're called Pussy. Cat. Dolls. You don't need to say anything else really. It's encouraging sexualisation and sexuality in young kids, and I think that's a bit weird.
When I was young I was listening to the Spice Girls and Destiny's Child. I was singing 'Independent Woman' and 'Survivor', and it was all about Girl Power and being with your friends. I don't think I was singing, 'Don't cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me?'.
It's really important to be a strong role model. It's one of my main things because I feel I've been exposed in such an extreme way to a lot of sexism."

Do you think Kate's right, or is it pretty harmless when young girls sing and dance to the Pussycat Dolls? I'm inclined to agree, these girls really shouldn't be aspirational for our kids.

Piers Morgan: "Beckham is a hypocrite"

It's fair to say that David Beckham is probably feeling worse than he has for a long time this morning, but that isn't gonna stop Piers Morgan laying into him for his "fame-hungry" ways.

Piers told the Daily Mail:

"Compared with genuinely loyal United heroes like Giggs, Scholes and Neville, Beckham's been a treacherous, money-grabbing, club-hopping, fame-hungry, egotistical little weasel who likes nothing better than making everything all about HIM. And nothing personified this more than when he swooped to pick up the green-and-gold anti-Glazer protest scarf and wrapped it round his tattooed neck.
Of course, as David explained afterwards, he wasn't actually supporting the protest, nor trying to interfere in the running of Manchester United.
The Glazers are big boys and I don't have much truck with the way they've allowed United to build up such potentially ruinous debt. But the hypocrisy of David 'United 'til I die' Beckham definitely moved me. To extreme nausea."

LOL!!!! I'm not going to bother commenting on Piers' accusations, but I will say this - I find it vaguely hilarious that he of all people would call anyone else "fame-hungry" or "egotistical"!!!

A spokesman for Italian car manufacturer Alfa Romeo confirmed last night: "We had been in discussions with a view to recruiting Vernon in an ambassador role for the brand. But in the light of what has happened, we have dropped that idea." Well, I hope he's learned his lesson!
