Insiders are confirming that Adrian Chiles is set to announce he's quitting the BBC today.
One source says he "doesn't want to fall out" with his bosses at the Corporation, but he has been frustrated at the lack of consultation over decisions such as replacing him on 'The One Show' on Fridays with Chris Evans, which was announced when he was away on holiday. It will also be announced that he's signed a £1 million-a-year with ITV to work on 'GMTV' and their world cup coverage, though the network are so far refusing to comment on speculation.
UPDATE: It's official! ITV have just announced Adrian is joining them on a four-year contract.
UPDATE: Chiles has released a statement that will no doubt prove controversial, saying it's "no secret" that it's been "an awkward period" for him at the BBC, and he's "absolutely delighted" to leave. He also confirms he'll be fronting 'GMTV' and the world cup coverage as we speculated earlier, which will cause no end of drama for ITV after they sacked other presenters in a cost-cutting measure. Who would have thought he could be so interesting?!!
