Billie Piper and the new Doctor Who star Matt Smith are rather familiar with each other already, it seems - he played a love interest that her character Belle couldn't get rid of in her Secret Diary of a Call Girl.

He also starred alongside Piper in BBC adaptations of The Ruby in the Smoke and The Shadow in the North. Maybe his close working relationship with the former Doc's assistant helped him score his big new role.

This clip is pretty funny - though there's not quite enough shirtless action from young Matt for Johnny Ikon. At least his hair isn't quite so huge in this programme though!
