Paul O'Grady has confessed he is debating his future, hinting he may quit Channel 4 when his top-rated teatime chat show contract comes up for renewal at the end of 2009.
The camp comic has a £2 million "golden handcuffs" deal with the broadcaster, but last night told The Sun that he's "not sure what will happen after that".
Currently on holiday at Cilla Black's Barbados villa, he told the newspaper: "Cilla asked me what I’m going to do and I just don’t know. I never do TV for money or fame and I always like to go out on a high when everything is going really well. I always think one morning I’ll wake up, the penny will drop and I’ll just stop."
Paul has a habit of calling a halt to things rather urgently - he called it quits on his drag act Lily Savage in 2004, despite bookings and appearances in the diary for months ahead.
