Chat show legend Michael Parkinson launched an astonishing attack on cancer victim Jade Goody just 48 hours after her funeral on Monday, labelling the Big Brother star as "ignorant" and "puerile", saying that she represents "all that's paltry and wretched about Britain today."

Parky told the Radio Times: "Jade Goody has her own place in the history of television and it’s nothing to be proud of. Her death is not the passing of a martyr, a saint or Princess Di."

Jade’s publicist Max Clifford said last night: "I’m very sad and surprised at his comments."
