Simon Cowell might be mean on-screen, but in real life he's saintly Simon!

It emerged on Monday that Simon has given £100,000 to a fund to secure treatment for a cancer-stricken 18-month old toddler called Sophie Atay from Birtley, Gateshead. He found out that her family had been working to raise £500,000, but had a shortfall with time running out, so he pledged to make up the difference to send her to the US for pioneering treatment.

Guess that Simon really isn't a monster, eh??? Lots of these stories have emerged, including that he pays the entire upkeep for a dogs' home in Los Angeles run by Linda Blair. Sweet!!!!
