A flavour of the Polynesian tropics for London night-owls

Review

Where is it?

Mahiki is found on the corner of Dover Street with Piccadily, a short walk from either Green Park or Piccadilly Circus tube stations. Nearby neighbouring clubs such as Volstead, Funky Buddha or Aura offer plenty of competition.

What's it like?

With handmade cane chairs, tropcial print cushions and little tiki figures dotted around the place, the feel is undeniably true to the Polynesian inspiration. The theme continues on the drinks menu, with my favourite being the Flamingo Fizz - a heady blend of guava juice, grenadine and pink champagne. Celebrated guests including Paris Hilton and Princes Williams and Harry go for the Treasure Chest to share with their friends, a £100 mix of brandy and peach liqueur, lime, sugar and a bottle of Moet. Pure tropical naughiness!

Why does Johnny Ikon love it?

A regular haunt of London's super-rich trustafarians and even royalty, Mahiki pulls off its tropical vibe without getting tacky. Total fun!
