Debauchery and indulgence in a very sexy venue!

Review

Where is it?

The playground of the super-rich, Kensington High Street, is home to Amika. Just a minutes' walk from Kensington High Street tube station, it's probably safe to assume most of the glitterati arriving at this venue are West London locals who make this a home from home.

What's it like?

With three distinct areas (a dance-fuelled club area with huge chandeliers, an all-white chillout cocktail bar and a VIP champagne room accessed only by a sliding door that requires a membership card), Amika is uber-cool, with something to suit all of the socialites that stop by here. The club boasts of a lack of pretension, but let's face it - anywhere that requires a swipe card to enter certain areas of the club has some delusions of grandeur, but it's all the more fun for it! The members of the glitterati with the influence to access forbidden areas love it, and as such the atmosphere is hedonistic, champagne-fuelled and decked out to the nines in ra-ra Kensington & Chelsea fashions. Fabulous darling!

Why does Johnny Ikon love it?

Amika is a good summary of the area its in - blazered public school boys, pretty girls with names like Savannah who ride horses and wealthy older gentlemen who look like they'd be smoking a cigar if it wasn't for the ban. Tacky? A little. I bloody love it!
